WT25
Description
WT25 (Acrysealant 05) is a one-part water emulsion acrylic joint sealant.
Recommended Uses
As a joint sealant for interior and exterior use. Seals movement joints in low movement building structures, between concrete elements, between walls and roof sections, around door and window frames.
Features
• Very good flexibility.
• Excellent adhesion to most building surfaces including concrete, aluminum, brick, stone, asbestos and wood.
• Good slump resistance.
• Easy to apply, single component (no mixing required).
• Suitable for use on surfaces affected by constant damp.
• Assists in reducing sound transmission.
• Non staining properties; will not discolor surrounding materials.
Application Instruction
• Method of Application : Caulking gun or wide bladed putty knife.
• Mixing : Not required.
• Thinner / Cleaner : Do not thin. Clean applying tools immediately after application is completed by water.
• Application Temperature : 5-40?C.
Technical Information
• Color : White.
• Volume Solids : 62.8 % (ASTM-D2697)
• VOC : 69 g/L (ASTM-D3960)
• Flexibility : Very good.
• Adhesion : Excellent.
• Temperature Resistance : from –30?C to 80?C
• Specific gravity : 1.2 kg/L (DIN 51757)
• Water resistance : Excellent.
• Packaging : 300ml in cartridge gun
Joint Size
WT25 can be applied to joints between 5mm and 20 mm wide and between 5mm and 10 mm depth.
It will be necessary to recess the level of the sealant 1mm to 2mm below the surface to prevent the sealant to protrude above the surface of the substrate during its operating cycle.
Consumption rate (m/l) “dry” Joint size (width × depth) (mm) 24 5 ×5 12 10 ×5 5 15x8
Joint Preparation
Joint surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from any suspended materials, contaminants, oil and grease. Remove all dirt, surface laitance, fins, other protrusions and contaminants by power brushing. Remove all rust, scale from metal surfaces. Blow all joints using dry, oil free compressed air. Non porous surfaces must be degreased before sealant application.
Priming: WT25 will bond without primer to most building surfaces. But for optimum performance as a highly flexible joint sealant it is recommended to apply:
1- EPX17 or EPX27 primer on porous surfaces such as concrete, brick, stone, asbestos;
2- SYN210 Primer “White” for priming wooden surfaces.
3- Professional Primer 900 on metal to prevent corrosion.
WT25 must be applied when the primer has reached the dry to handle condition.
Drying Time
• Dry to Handle : 24 hours (ASTM-D1640).
• Fully Cured : 7 days (ASTM-D1640).
• Note : Drying times can be affected by many factors such as temperature, ventilation and joint width and depth. Higher temperatures will shorten the drying times.
Storing Conditions
• “WT25” must not be allowed to come into contact with metals that are likely to corrode. Containers must be kept tightly closed. Exposure to strong heat and frost must be avoided.
• Shelf life is two years from packing date in unopened original containers at 10 to 40°C. Containers should be kept tightly closed.
Safety:
Avoid skin or eye contact. Prolonged contact may cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.
